S’pore Food Incubator Opens 6-Storey Hub In Jurong – Features R&D Labs, Coworking Spaces

Two weeks ago, the food incubator arm of sugar company Cheng Yew Heng opened a 90,000 sq ft facility in Chin Bee Drive, The Straits Times (ST) reported.

The six-story Innovate360 offers research and development laboratories, a co-working area, and trading, logistics, and manufacturing amenities targeted at helping food startups in Singapore.

Vice-president of Innovate360 Elias Tan said the building is at around 60% occupancy and that startups can also benefit from their network of sales partners, mentors, and funding.

Founder of Kombynation, Ethan Eng, shared that Innovate360 provided his healthy beverage business with financial support and business networking opportunities and connections to distribution channels.

Last year, he was experimenting with brewing kombucha in his university dormitory.

Now, the 26-year-old has produced four types of flavors and is planning to expand to China and the United States with the help of Innovate360.

He said, “As a startup, my team and I didn’t really know how to set up our factory space, but (Innovate360) pointed us in the right direction so we could focus on developing our product.”

Some of the startups incubated under Innovate360 include How Foods Pte. Ltd., which secured a seed funding of S$1.7 million recently, Kombynation, Hook Coffee, and Shiok Meats, among others.
